The Principle of Power Plate training:

For years we tried to become stronger and healthier through weight training. Adding extra weight made the muscle adapt to this heavier load and become stronger. Now there is power plate, where we change the acceleration factor of the weight with much less strain on the ligaments and the muscular skeletal system and no more long exhausting sessions.

You can do all the usual exercises squats, sit-ups and even weights on the plate. Exercises is based on functional training with free weights only to help you improve your own strength and tone better.

The vibration technology stretches the muscles, which activates the Tonic Vibration reflexes. Since the power plate vibrates at 30-50 seconds per second the involuntary muscles contractions happen at the same speed. Because of this it also increases the amount of muscle fibers recruited for an exercise and targets the specific muscle better. Conventional training uses a maximum of 40% of muscle fibers per muscle recruited. The Power Plate vibration recruits between 95 – 97% of muscle fiber. This also means that the deeper posture and stabilizing muscles, that are normally hard to train, can be stimulated.

Session are 30 mins only so easy to fit in to your daily schedule.  All sessions are semi-private but supervised for general fitness and strengthening.

This means it might be shared with one other person. I have two power plates running at the same time when needed (especially after and before popular business hours).

Power plate training sessions for rehabilitation:

Exercises are functional and specific. The Power plate offers the high intensity low impact training to prevent doing too much too soon.  You can get the same results using a lower weight to start with by increasing the speed of the Power Plate. This is ideal for after a sport injury or orthopaedic injury/surgery.

Power plate and general fitness with weight loss.

I run a challenge every month for all the ladies. In each challenge I will target and concentrate on specific areas to make sure you get the most out of the half an hour and work those delicate areas.
Sessions can burn up to 350 calories per session. The 3D vibration technology is also great for lymph draining, blood circulation, metabolism and sinus problems. It also reduces cellulite… So need I say more?  

Power plate sessions are R110 each or R1000 for ten sessions paid in advance.

All sessions claimed back from medical aid will be charged at medical aid tariff.

 

Pilates classes

Participants will be accommodated in the same group. Classes will be filled to a maximum of 6-7 people.

Pilates classes run on:

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:30 – 17:30
  • Fridays: 8:30 – 13:00

Classes are payable for the month in advance.  Missed sessions may be taken within the month on another time to catch up if possible.

Pilates classes are R80 per class

For your convenience, private classes are available to fit in with your schedule and is charged at R190 per hour.
